They have been lying at the former Royal Naval Dockyard next to some buildings that were originally the Submarine Mining Depot, established there in 1888. The depot was handed over to the Royal Naval Docyard stores organisation in 1915. The submarine mines have been buried and forgotten for 115 years probably to stabilise an earth bank. |
